Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026. Operated by Sporvo (legal entity to be confirmed).
This explains what personal data Sporvo collects, why, who can see it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account details: email address and/or mobile number, and a sign-in record.
- Profile: full name (private), nickname (public), date of birth (private), the sports you play and your self-declared level.
- For under-18s: a confirmation that a parent or guardian knows they play.
- Activity: games you join, waiting-list positions, cancellations, payment status and refunds. If you pay by payment link you may add a reference and a receipt: only the organizer of that game can see it, and we delete the receipt file once they have confirmed or rejected the payment. We never see or store card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Organizers: a verification document (Emirates ID for individuals, trade licence for companies) that only our team can open, and which we delete as soon as we decide the application. We never store the Emirates ID number. We keep its last four digits and a one-way fingerprint that stops one person holding several organizer accounts. Company licence numbers and the organizer's public name are kept.
- Teams and partners: if you team up for a game we record who is in your team, the invitations you send and receive, and, if you choose to, a partner listing (sport, level and a short note that expires). For a team game, one person can pay for the whole team, so the payer's payment details are linked to the team's registration.
- Communities and tournaments: the communities you join, announcements you post if you manage one, and your entries and results in tournaments.
- Messages: what we send you in the app and by email (confirmations, offers, reminders, news from communities you joined). You can switch off the optional ones on your account page.
- Technical data such as IP address and device information, for security and to keep the service running. We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who can see what
- Everyone: your nickname and, where you add one, your public sport profile. Participant lists in games show nicknames only.
- Organizers of games you join: your full name and contact details, so they can run the game. In a team game the organizer sees every team member's details.
- Your teammates: your nickname, and that you are in the team. Members of a community you join: your nickname in the member list, which only members can see.
- Other players in your age group: if you list yourself as looking for a partner, your nickname, sport, level and note, until the listing expires or you remove it. Under-18s and adults never see each other's listings.
- Everyone, for tournaments: nicknames and scores in public brackets and tables.
- Only you and our team: your date of birth, email address and sign-in records.
- Players under 18 are never shown by photo or full name to other players and are not discoverable by adults in partner search.
Why we use it
To create your account, check your age, run games and registrations, process payments and refunds, send service messages (confirmations, waiting-list offers, changes), keep the platform safe, and meet legal duties. We do not sell your personal data.
Who processes it for us
We use service providers to host the platform, send email and text messages, and process payments (for example a card payment provider). They process data only to provide those services. Some of them may store data outside the UAE.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Organizer verification files are deleted once the application has been decided. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires. You can delete your account yourself on your account page. Deleting removes your name, nickname, date of birth, email, mobile number, sign-in links, sports, notifications, listings and community memberships, and the account can no longer sign in. Records of games you took part in and payments are kept without your details, because organizers and we must keep financial records. You cannot delete your account while you still have a place in an upcoming game, an organizer account or a community you own.
Your choices
- Edit your name, nickname and sports on your account page.
- Download a copy of your data, or delete your account, on your account page. For a correction we cannot make there, or any other request, email us.
- Players must be at least 15. If you believe someone younger has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
